Disabled employee ratio of 2.8% at OMRON Corp. and the OMRON Group in Japan ranks highly among manufacturers
As of March 2008, the percentage of employees at OMRON Corporation with disabilities is 2.81% which is above the legally mandated level of 1.8%. This level includes employees at special subsidiaries charged with providing particular considerations for employees with disabilities. In the future, OMRON will strive to increase the employment rate for disabled persons without including special subsidiaries, as well as the rate at divisions that have not yet achieved the legally mandated level.
The average employment rate for disabled persons including 24 Group companies in Japan is 2.18% as of March 2008, which is among the highest for the Japanese manufacturing industry, as initially aimed at. However, since 13 Group companies failed to meet the legal requirement of 1.8%, efforts will be concentrated on promoting employment of disabled persons at these companies, as well as companies that have recently joined the OMRON Group or whose employees recently exceeded 56, which makes it necessary to meet the legally required level.
