Creating a more open, interactive shareholders meeting

Beginning in fiscal 2006, OMRON has been offering access to the Electronic Voting Platform for Institutional Investors. Using this system, it has become possible for trust banks that deal with institutional investors and non-resident investors to exercise their voting rights. After the general meeting closes, a separate meeting follows to present detailed information of each business segment’s conditions and OMRON’s activities that cannot be covered by the general shareholders meeting alone. In fiscal 2008, shareholders who exercised their voting rights totaled 9,636, including those who did so in written form or via the Internet. This is an increase of 1,603 from the previous year, and represents a voting rate of 81.8%.
