"It sure is great to be able to turn on the car stereo just by moving my hand. That way 1 can keep my eyes on the road and drive safely."
- Mr. A is driving home from work by himself. To enjoy the ride, he decides to listen to some music.
So he simply waves his hand up and down for a moment, and the car stereo turns on automatically. But his son had set the radio to a hard rock station, and Mr. A likes classical. So he makes another slight move of his hand and selects his favorite kind of music.
Radio Wave Sensor
OMRON's radio wave sensor can determine the distance between the target and the sensor by measuring the return time of pulse echoes that hit and reflect off a person or object. As these sensors incorporate increasingly more advanced functions, it will become possible to correctly capture even subtle body motions and deduce what a person intends to do.
