Towards a More Natural Interaction Between People and Machines

In the soon-to-emerge ubiquitous network society, OMRON believes that the most important requirement will be the creation of machines that adapt to users. To make this happen, sensing technology is essential for enabling machines to recognize and identify each user, as well as their attributes (e.g., age, gender) and physical condition. OMRON promotes R&D for vision sensing, a sensing technology that uses camera-recorded images, toward the goal of creating the best matching of machines to people. Consequently, OMRON has produced a steady stream of breakthroughs including Japan- and world-firsts in three areas: OKAO Vision, Pattern Vision and Silhouette Vision.
OKAO Vision
The future of human-machine interaction is hidden in the face.
Pattern Vision
Essential technology for the IT age.
Silhouette Vision
Accurate shape recognition and object identification.
